A post from Paris

Nice to see the Traghetto and familiar faces.
Debbie and I are in Paris until tomorrow. Paris is number 2 in the top European tourist destinations, Venice is number 9. We've also been to a couple of places that have the same history and art vibe - The Louvre and Versailles - and they inspire (in me at least) the same strange feelings about the changed purspose of contemporary art and what centuries old art means for the majority of people visiting things and places. We also saw a Pizza shop called Rialto and a pair of cinemas in the north of the city which are opposite each other on the Canal St. Martin. The cinemas are part of the same chain so if you are in one but you've bought a ticket for a screen across the water there is a free ferry service. That was really nice. All in all though it's quite a culture shock from Venice it's so loud and busy and intense. Whilst it's very well preserved and haunted by figures like Napoleon it's very charged with contemporary issues. Anyway, I'll have the film processed as soon as i get back and with any luck there'll be some images from me on the weekend.
